« Grocery Treasures » 2016 Temporary exhibition

La Maison du terroir beaujolais, in association with the Marius Audin museum for the arts and common traditions, and the Beaujolais Vignoble tourist information office, presents an exhibition:

Grocery Treasures

Local shops and business in our villages in the 19th and 20th century

We propose a journey through time to discover the local shops and businesses in some of the Beaujolais villages.
There were many different shop windows in our village streets in the 19th and 20th century, as shown by photos taken from the same angle a century apart.
And Beaujeu was one of them!
The diversity of theses shops and businesses was studied through bills and objects from two of them: the Jacquet bakery (19th century) and the Desprat grocery (20th century).
And finally, come into the fully reconstituted grocery and feel the atmosphere of bygone days.
